New Headframe Design for an Existing Monopole

The Challenge

The Challenge

The existing steel monopole had a small turret type extension supporting three existing panel antennas. Our customer required a two operator headframe to replace the turret.

Our Approach

We performed a structural assessment on the existing monopole and foundation, and found that the structure could support the proposed loading. The existing connection plate at the top of the monopole required an upgrade. As part of our design, we upgraded the top connection plate.

The upgraded connection plate meant that the new two operator headframe could be installed safely.

Our solution allowed the customer to safely increase their tenancy ratio, with a low-impact, economic design.
